Spring Into Education 2026
We held our first joint event with the Maine Paraoptometric Association on Saturday, April 11. 42 opticians and paraops from across Maine came together for a full day of education in Brewer. 26 opticians and paraops earned up to 6 CEs from outstanding educators Lynn Lawrence and Beth Sargent. Our ABO prep course, taught by Tommy Neff, drew 16 opticians studying for their ABO certification.

2025 Annual Meeting
We held our first UOOM Annual Meeting on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at Ken's Place in Scarborough. Thank you so much to all who turned out; we had some great food and drinks and a wonderful meetup with many of our colleagues across southern Maine.
UOOM Fall Conference
On Saturday, November 15 from 9am-4pm, we hosted an online education event featuring 3 ABO-certified speakers: John Zimmerman of Carl Zeiss Vision, Megan Smart of EssilorLuxottica, and Justin Tenczar of Etnia Eyewear. Thank you to our attendees, speakers, and sponsors for a great learning event!
